Post Development Stormwater Runoff Standard (PDSWRS)

Work Group

Overview : The PDSWRS Work Group will develop a recommendation(s) of one to four stormwater performace standards for the state of Illinois and separate associated standards which apply to Illinois Department of Transportation or Illinois Toll Authority if required by the Illinois EPA. Recommendation(s) shall use stormwater volume of an entire site as a proxy for water quality as indicated in the Illinois Green Infrastructure Study. Therefore, performance standards for individual BMPs or pollutants will not be included. The recommendation(s) shall, as nearly as may be feasible, be developed in a format that will facilitate inclusion into the Illinois Urban Manual if determined to be desirable to do so by the AISWCD and the Illinois EPA.

Purpose : To develop recommendation(s) for stormwater runoff performance standards in post development landscapes in Illinois.

Overall Objective : To provide recommendation(s) to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency from which implementable performance stormwater standards can be developed to improve water quality in waters of the state of Illinois.
